Palm Beach Police Chiefs Install New Board
2013 Platform includes increased public engagement
The Palm Beach County Association of Chiefs of Police installed their 2013
board of directors yesterday. Judge James Martz administered the oath of
office. Guest speaker State Attorney Dave Aronberg provided an overview of
his new administration to over 100 distinguished guests.
Incoming President Chief Dan Alexander laid out an ambitious agenda for the
Association in 2013, based on strategic planning sessions with the
membership. Alexander said that the organization must “be effectively
prepared to respond to ever-changing service demands, we need to stay ahead
of the curve…” In the next few weeks, the Association will be addressing the
issue of gun violence through a law enforcement and community forum in Palm
Beach County. The members recognize their key leadership roles and will seek
to leverage their influence to keep our citizens safe.
In the coming year, the Association will more actively engage traditional
media about issues in policing, and also expand into social media platforms.
